Independent Investigational Review Board, Inc. (Independent IRB) is an organization that conducts Human Research Protection review. Independent IRB upholds and adheres to the principles of The Belmont Report: Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research by the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects in Biomedical and Behavioral Research (1979). Independent IRB is accredited by AAHRPP (Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs).
The Office of Community Research, Inc.'s Direct-Lynx Pilot Study has received certification from IIRB, Inc. The Direct-Lynx Study is a unique approach to community mobilization through the use of the Problem Oriented Screening Instrument For Teenagers Plus (POSIT+) and Direct-Connect, a resource mapping tool. Both of these tools are web-hosted and empower commuities to map, manage, and mobilize community resource information across the continuum of care from prevention to treatement and recovery.
